NGR's Blog

A weblog is an online, semi-personal journal offering the opinion and commentary of the authors.

Our blogs feature thought leadership on a wide range of business issues, with a particular focus on helping companies grow. Here you'll also find blogs about emerging technologies and career experiences from select employees. The opinions of the writers do not necessarily reflect the position of NGR on these subjects.

Ten Ways to Grow Your Email List Aggressively

The following tips are sure're ways to successfully grow your email list.

GIVE MORE INFORMATION AND LESS PROMOTION.

It’s okay to email the occasional product promotion; after all, you’re a business with a product or service to sell. However, offer valuable information such as reports, blog posts, or videos in most of your email newsletters.

INCLUDE A “SIGN UP FOR EMAIL NEWSLETTER” FORM ON YOUR WEBSITE.

This allows web visitors of your site a chance to sign up for your email newsletter. Make sure the form is noticeable.

INCLUDE A “SHARE” LINK IN YOUR NEWSLETTER.

This is like the internet version of “word of mouth.” someone enjoys your newsletters, they will want to pass it on to others. So, include a link that enables them to do this.

ALLOW SUBSCRIPTION WITHIN YOUR NEWSLETTER.

Give subscription instructions in each newsletter to persons interested in forwarding your newsletter to others who aren’t yet subscribers – yet would like to subscribe after reading your newsletter.

SUBMIT ARTICLES TO ARTICLE DIRECTORIES.

When you build links on websites such as Ezine Articles and Go Articles, you will draw people to your website -at which time they can sign up for your newsletter.

INCLUDE A LINK IN YOUR EMAIL SIGNATURE.

With every email you send out, be sure to include a link that leads to your signup form.

BE HONEST ABOUT YOUR EMAIL INTENTIONS.

Tell visitors whether you sell or share their email addresses. Don’t leave them wondering about this; it might cause them not to sign up.

NETWORK OFFLINE.

Let’s not forget traditional marketing. When you receive business cards, see if there’s an email address listed. If so, ask the card presenter if they’d be interested in joining your email list.

VISIT BLOGS AND WEBSITE FORUMS.

Websites such as LinkedIn give you a chance to privately ask someone if they’d like to receive your newsletter. On blogs, you can publicly announce it.

BE PATIENT.

<p">Building an email list takes a lot of hard work and most importantly, patience. This isn’t an overnight success, but if you’re persistent in your efforts, you will see a great return on investment.
